One of the best most challenging journeys you'll ever go on is seeing what your body is capable of. Perhaps you are in shape, completely out of shape, or simply looking to lose some weight. However, developing a body that you can be proud, one that is healthy, and permits you to truly adore every last inch of it actually is a wonderful journey to try.

So what is the real secret to making a lasting change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every single day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you will become deeply discouraged and daunted by the task at hand. Instead, really try and understand you are competing against and with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But every single time you do, you must come back with a commitment to achieving something you strongly desire. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field every day. Without it, you will suffer the the unavoidable fact of many new years resolutioners who give up each single year on creating the body of their dreams because they lack the power to keep on coming back time and again.

Commitment also is evoked, although not the commitment you're possibly thinking of. In our world, we are fed this idea that everything must take place right now and if it does not happen now, it's not worthwhile. Your body is going to really change acrossthe years, so why don't you make a lifelong commitment to staying healthy? Is that an attractive marketable idea? Not really. But is it something that could actually change the course of your life? Definitely.

When you make a promise to keeping your body healthy throughout your whole life, you'll at last reach whatever goal you wish. It is about seeing the bigger picture than merely the few months in front of you until summer. It's about developing something that you truly can be pleased with for ever and ever. For me, that new concept made my life different as I was able to ultimately hit my health goals after 12 years of wrestling with my body image and food issues. But as soon as I shifted my view of what I was making an attempt to achieve, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it works for you. Make a lifelong commitment to remaining healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term also.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all sides of your life, and things will change radically.
