Weight Loss Tips - I Can't Lose Weight

I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone say, "I need to lose weight, but I just can't." Losing weight is not easy but everyone can lose weight. For some people it is harder than others to drop those unwanted pounds. It is easy to make excuses for not losing weight but if you truly want to lose weight or have to lose weight, you have to overcome them. We will go through some of the most common excuses for not losing weight.

Exercise is one factor in all diets that is absolutely necessary and it is often the hardest thing for most people to do. The truth of the matter is that there aren't very people that love to exercise so much that they just can't wait to get out of bed in the mornings! If you want to lose weight, you have to move your body. It really isn't an option not to exercise in some manner. Try simple changes at first. Wear a pedometer to see how many steps you take on your "normal" days of no exercise and then try to increase the number of steps you take every day. Try to modify your daily routine somewhat and move more than you normally do. If you can, walk to work or to the store, take the stairs in instead of the elevator or walk your dog. Do something!

Many people say that they just don't have time to eat healthy meals or they hate to cook. You have to prioritize your life and take care of yourself. You only have one body. You have to take care of it or all of those things you run around doing instead of eating healthy meals won't be possible. Most people don't have the time or the desire to be sick or have continual health problems. Plan your meals out ahead of time so that you don't come home dead tired with no idea of what to fix. Try cooking meals ahead of time and freezing them.

Junk foods have become a staple of our diets and some people feel that they are impossible to do without. Any diet plan that you follow has to fit your lifestyle and cutting out all chocolate and ice cream for example, will only make you feel deprived. There is no reason that you can't have these foods but the key is to have them in moderation. No, you can't eat the entire half gallon of ice cream but you can have one or two scoops to satisfy your craving for it. Portion control is necessary for any types of foods you eat.

Starting a diet can be a lonely experience, especially if friends and family members are not on board. Support is very important to the success of any diet plan. If you are responsible for fixing meals, gradually start substituting healthier foods for everyone. The key is not to deprive anyone, even you. Food is very important as a social media and you will be tempted. Explain to your family and friends that you would like their help and tell them what you expect. See if you can get one of your friends to be your diet buddy and follow the plan with you. But in the end, you can't make someone support you. In some cases, you will have to be your own best friend and do what is best for you.

We live in a society where eating fast food is more common that eating at home. It is possible to lose weight while eating out but it is harder. You will have to make better choices when eating out. Avoid breads and chips before or during the meals. Many restaurants now offer lighter menus and smaller portions that you can choose from. Foods that are grilled or poached are your best options and try to choose fish or chicken.

Everyone has their own set of excuses for not being able to stick to a diet and lose weight. In the end, you are the person that is most harmed by these types of excuses. No one can force you to lose weight. You have to decide to follow a plan and stick to it. No path to losing weight is easy but being able to fit back into a pair of jeans you haven't worn in two years is a great feeling.
